Together for Shujaia
This is the muaazen of العائدون mosque, "our uncle Mahmoud". This was the first athan in the mosque after 15 months of genocide.
Shujaia, one of Gaza’s most resilient neighborhoods, has been deeply scarred by this Israeli Genocide. Our local mosque, the heart of our community, was the first to be targeted. This space wasn’t just a place for prayer, it was home to a Quran school, a center for learning, and a refuge for the people of this neighborhood. The streets and homes around it are buried in rubble, and families are fighting daily to survive amidst unimaginable hardships.
But if there is one thing we’ve learned living in Gaza, it’s that the strength and patience of our people are unmatched. Despite everything, we remain steadfast, holding tightly to our faith..
This Ramadan, a time of immense mercy and opportunity for reward, my siblings and I have decided to take action. We grew up in Shujaia, and we see the situation here every day. It is heartbreaking, but at the same time, we know we must do something to help our neighbors, our families, and our community.
What Your Support Will Achieve
We’ve launched this fundraiser with specific goals to support our community and make life easier for them. With your help, we intend to:
📖 Reopen the school inside the mosque: Providing children with access to education and restoring hope in their future.
🚜 Clear the rubble: Renting heavy machinery to remove debris from the mosque, surrounding homes, and neighborhood streets.
🤲 Provide urgent aid: Delivering essential items such as food, clothing, and medical supplies directly to families in need, especially during this sacred time of Ramadan.
These efforts will help restore dignity and stability to our community, allowing Shujaia to rise again, stronger than before.
